Furuncle(mainly called boil) is an infection of the hair follicle caused by Staphylococcus aureus. This bacterium causes the inflammation of the skin near the hair follicle, which afterwards fills with pus and dead cells. As a rule, furuncles are cause by cuts or scratches on skin, unqualified hair removing, hormonal misbalance and vitamin deficiency.
The clusters of furuncles are called carbuncles and are a more serious and complicated form of this disease. Furuncles can be symptomatic and occasional, but sometimes they recur again and again. In this case we deal with furunculosis.

Furunculosis is a bacterial disease, so it’s extremely contagious. Such diseases as diabetes, TB virus, HIV and hematologic disorders worsen the situation and make the organism more prone to furunculosis. The cases of spread of furuncles among all family members are very frequent, so urge your relatives to treat furuncles of they have them. If untreated, furunculosis can lead to skin abscess and the damage of internal organs.
The 3 steps obligatory in furuncle treatment are:
1. Regular cleaning of the skin
2. Application of anti-furuncle creams
3. Strengthening your immune system
! Never squeeze furuncles, as this way you spread the bacteria over the skin!
• It’s unnecessary to stimulate the opening of the furuncles, as this can lead to further infection of the hair follicle.
• You’d better use antiseptic creams with antibiotics. They kill the bacteria and stop the inflammation of the skin. Such creams can also guarantee that the furuncles will not appear again on the same spot.
• Use such herbal remedies as chamomile, oak bark, or oxygenated water to dry the boil. They also help to clean the skin and prevent further infecting.
• If you have large and recurring boils, go to your doctor immediately, as you need not only a furuncle treatment, but also an immunoprotective therapy.
